Caledonia Gladiators' Mathilde Domenger has been named the Molten Community Champion for the 2025/26 season, becoming the first recipient of an award at this year's Super League Basketball post-season honours.
Domenger has been recognised for her exceptional commitment to community engagement, consistently going above and beyond her responsibilities. A leading presence within the Gladiators programme, she dedicates time multiple times each week to working with young people, schools, fans, and partners — building genuine, meaningful connections that help young athletes develop not only as basketball players, but in confidence and personal growth.
She also plays a key role in the club's school roadshows and actively supports partner engagement, with much of her contribution happening quietly and without fanfare, reflecting her humility and integrity.
Reflecting on the award, Domenger said:
"Receiving this truly means a lot to me. Basketball is not just a sport — it's about life moments. Shared smiles, sometimes tougher emotions, but always experienced together. Sport is about loving the same thing as others, building connections, and making people feel seen and valued. I've truly loved meeting so many people this year, and I feel lucky to be part of a club that values these human qualities. I sincerely thank everyone I've had the chance to meet — they help me grow not only as a player, but as a woman."
